This website has been launched to share up-to-date news about Cyclone Sidr and mobilize support for survivors. Members of our team include:
Nadia Afrin is the Business and Policy Advisor at Development Gateway Foundation, which seeks to make aid and development efforts more effective. She is currently involved in reviving Drishtipat DC, a voluntary network that will promote social justice and human rights within the Bangladesh and Bangladeshi-American community in the US.
Nafisul Islam is a graduate student studying Public Policy at American University in Washington DC. Previously, he worked at Transparency International USA and Center for International Private Enterprise.
Shimul Saha received a bachelor degree from Bloomsburg State University and is working for Verizon business as a system analyst. Shimul regularly organizes and participates in various Bangladeshi cultural shows and activities including 71-er Golpo, which seeks to raise awareness about Bangladesh’s history and rich cultural heritage.
Tasbir Imam took a leap of faith from the IT sector to the hospitality sector and is currently managing two hotels in Northern Virginia. He is also a member of 71-er Golpo.
Ubaidul Khan works as a Computer System Engineer for George Mason University. He attended High School and University in Michigan and moved to Metro DC area at the end of 2004. He is a member of the 71-er Golpo team.
